WHO IS SO VICIOUS
So Vicious is one of the sickest MC’s coming out of San Francisco, CA, Bay View Hunters Point to be exact, this is one of the most historical black neighborhoods in San Francisco.
Vicious has been involved in music as far back as she can remember. At the age of 5 she started playing the piano, she followed her passion of composing and started writing music & poems by the age of 9. She worked very hard and got her first opportunity to record in a professional studio when she was 17.
Vicious told us that she started doing music because I’ve always loved it…
“it’s just in me. I remember growing up listening to my moms old school albums & 45s with her & mimicking everything I heard & saw.”
So Vicious was inspired by a lot of old school music when she was younger like Micheal Jackson, The Spinners, & The Ojay’s but she grew up in the era when 2pac, Notorious B.I.G., Lil Kim, & Dr. Dre had the hip hop/ rap scene on lock.
“They all inspired me a lot because they were hard workers they motivated me because they came from a background I come it showed me anything is possible. “
Vicious has a total of six projects released so far
- “Gangstress”
- Vicious Lessons
- Beauty & The Beast
- Couples Therapy
- Under construction
- & her latest release: “6”
Each project has a different concept, the projects show a diverse creative side of and growth with her hand in writing music.
“Each project basically reflected what point I was in my life at that time. I have grown a lot. I always try to do a variety of things fun, serious, sexy & story telling. I just try to be my true self in whatever I put out. “
So Vicious has been releasing singles, scheduling music video shoots to promote the projects further. She told us that she plans to release 3 projects in the year of 2020, she wants to stay busy and consistent, forcing herself out of her own comfort zone to think outside of the box, & creating something different for her listeners.
“I feel I have my own style of music I believe I’m more old school than most artists today. I sound totally different & I don’t really talk about the same topics. I try to stay true to myself by staying in my own lane. I want my music to have substance. “
WE ASKED SO VICIOUS: ARE YOU INVOLVED IN YOUR COMMUNITY? IF SO HOW?
“I stay involved in my community by volunteering with the “Feline Finesse Dance Studio” a youth dance team for girls that my daughter is apart of which supports #Sisterhood. I’m also involved with “Imprint City” a community organization which throws events for the community & provides opportunities. On my own I also try to give back when I can by giving clothes & food to the less fortunate when ever I have the extra resources to give.”
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL YOUR FANS?
“I would like my supporters to know that I appreciate each & every one of them. Support goes a long way nobody can be successful without a strong support system. Being in the music industry is a challenge sometimes & can get discouraging, but fans, support & motivating words are what keeps me going. Please keep lifting me up by streaming, sharing, reposting & telling people about me & my music please! Every share helps.”
