UP & COMING ARTISTS TO LOOK OUT FOR IN 2020 – COMMERCE

Commerce is one of the hottest Rapper/ Producers to make their way out of Los Angeles! He was originally born in Pomona, California, he also moved around SoCal leaving his foot print in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. He started making music at 11 years old, 4 years later he finally got his chance in a recording studio!

Commerce comes from a musical family, his mom used to work for some of the biggest radio stations in Southern California, his dad was big into music also! Commerce says he can remember the thousands of cassette tapes in his dads collection.

“Most of the cassette tapes that my dad had were Hip Hop/ Rap which made me adapt to the culture young. My cousins were rappers too, so I had a heavy influence making music because I wanted to be like them.”

WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR EARLIEST INSPIRATIONS?

“My earliest inspirations are Tupac and can-I-bus. Tupac inspired me because of his ambition and will power to keep going no matter the situation. He showed you how to paint your pain with a picture of words which is amazing and hard for tons of artist in general. Canibus is a wordsmith and his rhyme play to me is still one of a kind, he inspired me not to be like every other artist! Don’t be afraid to hop out the shell! “

Commerce will be releasing his Debut EP “Secure the Bag.” starting January 2020. This project is expected to do major numbers so it will be released on all major platforms in case It sells out on another! We asked commerce what the concept of this project is, he said to us…

“The concept is no matter your struggle or situation we all are on the same journey, master your emotions your thought process and secure the bag.”

Keep your eyes and ears peeled because Commerce will also be dropping another project towards the end of the year titled: “What is Commerce” based on concepts inspired by his father.

“My name is commerce because that’s what I am, that’s what you are, as well as every thing we look at in this world. I’m bringing that real sh*t back to hip hop the sh*t everybody needs to hear, the rebel everybody wants to see.”

Commerce is adaptable to so many styles of music when he is in his creative space, if you were to hear each song separately you would think it is a group of all different musicians.

“My style is a mix of all of the great artist before us. Nothing is new under the sun, but what makes my music different is nobody’s the same as me. I’ve grown to be comfortable with my voice on and off camera and I tend to believe it is unique and attractive to the ear.”

WE ASKED COMMERCE: ARE YOU INVOLVED IN YOUR COMMUNITY!? IF SO HOW? WHAT IS YOUR ROLE?

“Yes, I have a son and daughter who are growing up & it’s my job not just to lead them, but to lead their peers as well. I participate in the activities my sons school has frequently, I’ll be assistant coaching his baseball team this upcoming year.”
