WHO IS QRIS DAVIS!?
QRIS Davis is an original Singer, Songwriter, & instrumentalist making waves on the west coast!
This multi-talented artist is originally from Los Angeles, CA but grew up in Moreno Valley, CA where he moved at the age of 9 years old.
He has a very unique sound ranging from Neo-Soul, R&B, to Jazz. He has been singing all of his life he says, but he started producing back in late 2015, he also told us that…
“I started recording because I have so many ideas that Roll through my body, I have to lay them down somewhere so other people can hear what I hear. Hopeful it sounds as good to them as it does to me.”
Musiq Soulchild has had a huge influence on Qris since he was young, his mom was always playing it, as well as Erykah Badu, he said his mom even let him get one of Musiq Soulchild CD’s when he was younger too.
Qris said as he grew up, he started listening to D’Angelo, John Legend, Robert Glasper, Bilal, and many more talented artists, but made it a point that D’Angelo’s “Brown Sugar” album is one of his all time favorites.
“Their music just felt GOOD all around! It felt like it really comforted my soul. I knew that if I was going to make music, I had to provide that same feeling.”
As of right now Qris only has one song titled “Meditation”, and it’s the first full song he has ever written or released, he told us that…
“I was at a place in my life where meditating was prioritized in my daily routine, and I felt good because of it. I definitely have some more coming up, and I’ll be dropping some this year for sure!”
“Meditation” is not intended to be a party song, it has a more laid back and chill vibe. Is stats off with Qris’s vocal’s abd is layered with some bass chords following drums.
Leonard Rashad linked Qris up with Lajhi Hampden who played the drums, and Tom Weir who recorded, mixed, and mastered the track.
“I appreciate these guys for being a part of this, and I hope to work with them again very soon!”
Qris Davis plans on releasing a 4 song EP before the end of the year so stay in tune!
