UP & COMING ARTISTS TO LOOK OUT FOR IN 2020 – JAY J HARLEY

Jay J Harley is the up coming Rapper & Producer making noise all the way in Belfast, Northern Ireland! This is where he was born and raised but also said that he spent a lot of time in Bristol, UK! If your’e looking for an Irish artist that is nothing like any artist you heard before he’s your man! He sounds nothing like anyone else in his country.. He is trying to create a new genre for Hip Hop in Ireland to pave his own lane,

Jay has been making music for as a ling as he can remember, he said that he thinks that the first time he ever touched a pen to paper with the intentions of making music had to be around the age of 12 years old.

Some of his biggest inspirations were Outkast & 2Pac, Outkast was a big motivation because of how Andre 3K would write his songs. He also said that 2Pacs diverse sound is what made him want to chase the music even further.

Jay J Harley has a video out from 2014 titled: “The War On Drugs”. The concept of this project is a track highlighting of what it is like living in a paramilitary controlled city and how they are drug dealers posing as vigilantes of the community.

Jay has a ton of new msuic on the way that you should be getting ready for, an upcoming EP titled: “Intergalactic Communion” a project he produced composed of 5 songs, 2 being Produced by “SEANi BWOi” & additional features with Miami artist “The Real Sir”. This EP is a mixture of psychedelic Hip Hop, & UK garage band with trap elements. The concept of this project is based on psychedelics intertwined with religious themes. Jay told us that he came up with this theme when he was given LSD during a studio session.

Jay creates something different for the listener while trying to build a commercial name, Jay told us that…

“Commercial music usually has little substance to the lyrics so I want to be able to quench the commercial need at the same time give the listener deep and meaningful lyrics.”
